Getaway House is a unique vacation concept hosting approximately 200sqft company-owned micro-cabin RVs scattered across hundred-acre rural, undeveloped woodland sites built to give visitors a space to disconnect from the city and reconnect to the people and places that matter most. RaganSmith was hired to provide civil engineering consulting services for several outposts across Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Texas.
Tasked with providing site design, grading, utility infrastructure, roadway design, and permitting services, our consultants worked closely with this niche client to best design the rural, heavily wooded sites. Associated improvements include the development of internal site access roads, underground utility line installation and connections, micro-cabin RV pads, and walking trails.
Each project presents natural challenges in working with constraints to preserve the natural features of the land while maintaining privacy for each campsite. This meant creatively placing each campsite through a site-by-site approach, refining the process as each project progressed. Additional project challenges were presented with best situating roadways and utility infrastructure in these remote areas keeping value engineering in mind. Our consultants worked with the client to improve and refine concept standards while creatively designing cost effect custom solutions.
