Scott Niesen

PE

Vice President

Scott joined RaganSmith in 1994.
He holds a BS in Civil Engineering
from Clemson University.

Scott is our go-to for everything transportation. His primary experience is in Traffic and Transportation Engineering. Scott is extremely active outside of the office and was chosen as a Peer Expert for the Roundabout Peer to Peer program with FHWA, as well as being selected to serve on the National ITE Roundabout Task Force. Locally, he has served as the President of the Middle Tennessee Section of American Society of Highway Engineers, on two MDHA steering committees for development districts and streetscapes, and on the ReDiscover East! Streetscape, Traffic, and Parking committee.

A born and raised Chicagoan, Scott is a big Bears fan, a connoisseur of DEEP-dish pizza, a Ferris Bueller historian, and a Christmas Vacation enthusiast. Scott left the Windy City for Howard’s Rock at Clemson University, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering, and soon after launched a lifetime career with RaganSmith.

If you ever want to strike up a conversation with Scott, just ask him what the difference is between a Traffic Circle and a Roundabout. They’re the same thing, right?

Little Known Fact

Scott lived with a BB lodged in his eyebrow for 30 years and everything was going fine until he had to get an MRI.
