Kenny Freer
PE, CPESC
Principal Associate
Kenny joined RaganSmith in 2014.
He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
Kenny started his career with the Alabama DOT, starting in the Design Bureau in the Montgomery Central Office, and then transferring to Construction in the Guntersville Division. After leaving the DOT, Kenny served as City Engineer/ Public Works Director in Fort Payne, AL, and then County Engineer in DeKalb County, AL. After 13 years of public service, Kenny entered the engineering consulting industry. Since 2014, Kenny has been RaganSmith's main contact for all Construction Engineering & Inspection projects, and has managed contracts for TDOT, Metro Nashville Government, City of Chattanooga, and many other Tennessee municipalities.
Kenny is a huge fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves. Unlike Joe Griffin, he thinks that Peyton Manning is the G.O.A.T. He is a music lover .... mostly Contemporary Christian and Classic Rock. When away from the office, he can be found in Gatlinburg or Gulf Shores, AL with family and friends, drinking a Bloody Mary, more than likely.
Little Known Fact
When he was in college, Kenny drove a 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible. It wasn't in tip-top shape, and when he took his wife on their first date, she had to get in on the driver's side and climb over to the passenger's side, because that door wouldn't open .... thankfully they weren't in a wreck!
