George joined RaganSmith in 1987.
He holds a BS in Civil Engineering
from Tennessee Technological University.
George came onboard straight out of Tennessee Tech in January 1987. From the very beginning of his tenure at RaganSmith, George saw that Sid Smith and Pete Ragan had created a family-type atmosphere comparable to what he had grown up with on his family’s farm in Hartsville, Tennessee. Today, he is striving to do his part to keep that same down-home feel within the company.
The majority of George’s career has been in residential subdivision developments. He is now a partner and co-manager over the RaganSmith Residential Department. His involvement in the community includes being a past Board Member and past President of the Nashville Branch of ASCE, as well as a supporter of Habitat for Humanity. He is famous around the office for his proof-reading skills and his ability to stretch a small bag of M&Ms out over a full month. George enjoys playing golf, basketball, and spending time with his wife riding bikes and lounging around in their newly empty nest.
