Project Info

Survey and design services were provided to widen and realign an existing 1.6 miles of two-lane road in Ripley, Tennessee.  The projected new urban multi-lane roadway provided significant design challenges due to area topography, proximity of adjacent homes, traffic control and constructability concerns.  With the design of 15 side roads in a dense urban environment, the reconstruction will also impact over 100 property owners.

The design includes bicycle lanes, sidewalks, and crosswalks, thus serving the multi-modal needs of the highly populated neighborhood and tying together the historic downtown, the city park, and the commercially oriented Ripley By-pass.
