Ragan-Smith worked in close collaboration with the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere and the Cumberland River Compact to complete a master plan design and to analyze the storm water treatment facilities and the riparian zone surrounding an unnamed creek in the northwest region of the existing zoo property.
The goal of the master plan and site analysis for the Nashville Zoo Native Tennessee project was threefold:
-Improve the water quality of stormwater run-off
-Create a native Tennessee wildlife exhibit that demonstrates biodiversity with native ecological habitat
-Create a fun and exciting outdoor educational experience for visitors
