Transportation Engineer, Project Manager

RaganSmith is seeking a full-time Transportation Project Manager based in our Nashville office. This position is responsible for project design, staff development, project delivery, and client and sub-consultant coordination within transportation design. This role will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects with private and public clients throughout the state and the southeast. 

Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee transportation design plans, studies, and analyses through project software
  • Technical design for TDOT, municipal and private offsite roadway projects
  • Directing and mentoring staff
  • Project delivery and quality
  • Budgeting and client invoicing
  • Coordination with construction engineering and inspection staff
  • Additional related duties as needed

Requirements

  • 6-11+ years of engineering experience with recent experience in transportation design preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Tennessee PE license
  • Understanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTO
  • Experience with TDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation
  • Experience in development of roadway plans and specifications along with local municipalities and permitting agencies
  • Proficiency with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Project management experience, including client coordination and team assignments to meet project objectives
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
