Construction Manager

RaganSmith is looking for a full-time Construction Manager based in our Nashville office. This position is responsible for oversight of Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) projects with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and local municipalities and all field-based Inspector staff. The Construction Manager is also responsible for client communication and project management, scope, and budget.

Responsibilities 

• Lead project management tasks, including client interaction and creating and adhering to budgets
• Supervise CEI Inspectors to ensure all company and project standards are being met
• Create and maintain project documentation, including inspection reports, change orders, and invoicing
• Delegate and mitigate project questions and concerns
• Lead interdepartmental communication for multi-phase projects
• Review and approve daily reports from field Inspectors
• Participate in proposal writing 
• Monitor and forecast project progress
• Visit project sites for oversite as needed
• Additional related duties as needed

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of inspection experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• EI certification or PE license preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Transportation (bridge, roadway, rail) construction inspection experience
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training, Radiation Safety/Nuclear Gauge/Hazmat Training, TDOT or ACI Concrete Field Testing, TDOT Aggregate, and TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Roadway Certifications
• Experience with Site Manager software and roadway plans preferred
• Experience with construction of traffic signals, fiber optic cable, and ITS components preferred
• Willingness to work overtime, limited nighttime construction, and overnight travel as needed
